In the last year we have made super progress. Five schools completed in 2007 and on the way to completing eight or more schools for 2008. Our friends now include Hewlett Packard, Freeflow (Ireland) Ltd, Venray Technology, Texas, Kelleher Enterprises, Evanston School District, Wyoming, Stony Brook University/ Richard Leakey Foundation, Duke University, Film Director Gurinder Chadh, (of “Bend it like Beckham” fame)
We visited Africa six times during 2007 to review the construction program and reviewed communities and villages where we will build new schools. We are also pleased to tell everyone that we will be building a school in honor of the Dallas Texas, and community leader, John Wiley Price. Please see more about this in our project section.
We visited and filmed the biggest slums in Africa, which are located in Nairobi, Kenya and completed two different videos, A Cluster of Rocks and a Tattered Book” which will be ready in April this year, and “Come Home with Us” which will be ready in May. (See more about this in our press section)
This year we plan to build schools in other African countries and visited Malawi in January and will visit other countries this year
We are a US registered non- profit organization dedicated to building schools: installing electric power and providing computers and other educational equipment for children in Africa.
We raise funds for, and oversee, the construction of Primary and Secondary schools for the Maasai Mara region of Kenya.
Steeped in tradition, the communities there see the need to educate their children and want choices for their children’s future by providing education opportunities for them.
Located six hours drive from Nairobi across the plains of Kenya, near the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, the villages and communities there need help with building schools to educate their children.
No roads to speak of, no social infrastructure to speak of, no electricity, and little clean water. There is a daily struggle to just stand still, but there is much hope and a burning ambition to improve the quality of life for the children. These children are amazingly smart, bright eyed and full of curiosity.
Our school construction program is designed to help and enable these rural communities by building these places of learning, with electricity and computers, which will form the foundation for a quality educational and ultimately to life choices and self determination.
We invite and welcome you to our web site for more information on how you can help these struggling communities of Africa. |
